Wake up to the sun rise over the ocean and later in the day enjoy sunset drinks on the shaded verandahs overlooking Cooroy Mountain.

A gum lined driveway leads up to a 3 car garage with large entertaining space above. Adjacent to the garage, the separate guest bedroom & bathroom includes its own private balcony capturing the sea views. The main house is accessed via a covered walkway and wrapped by wide shady verandas on all sides.

The sense of quality & style is evident from the moment you walk in the door. Ebony stained Blackbutt timber floors compliment the off white walls and timber period features throughout. There is a lovely informal lounge and dining area with an open fire & views that span from east to west which adjoins the open plan kitchen with its magnificent solid timber cabinetry, double Ilve oven & 3 Fisher Paykel dishdrawers. The formal entertaining area incorporates a dining table for 14 people, a Jetmaster gas fireplace, and a very spacious sitting area that opens out onto the verandahs overlooking the pool area & the ocean views beyond. The four bedrooms in the main house are all ensuited, stunningly appointed and open via French doors onto the verandas. A lovely study and stunning laundry complete the layout.

Outside the 2 acres of garden frame the home beautifully & a full sized floodlit tennis court provides additional outdoor entertaining.
The property is bordered by a large farm & acreage properties and, as such, is remarkably private and yet only 10 minutes drive from the heart of Noosa.

This stunning property must be seen to be truly appreciated.

WOW

Louis Vuitton at Home

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">Louis Vuitton trunks and travel bags make regular appearances in design photos – sometimes as props, but frequently as furniture. Happy Birthday, Hemingway!

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">Today is my birthday. I share this day with a favorite author, Ernest Hemingway, who was born July 21, 1899 and died July 2, 1961. Hemingway was a master of the short story. He used language so precisely, writing only what was necessary to tell a tale. Despite the spare prose, the reader feels the presence of what has been left unsaid. Whether he was describing war, a bull fight or a conversation between a man and woman, Hemingway’s writing was always elegant. In honor of his birthday, I share some photos of Hemingway’s homes.

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">Here is a photo of Ernest Hemingway’s boyhood home in Oak Park, Illinois. A couple with two young sons bought the house earlier this month for $525,000. The house currently is divided into three apartments, but the couple plans to restore it to a single-family home as it was in 1906 using Hemingway’s floor plans as a guide.

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">This is a photo of the house in Key West, Florida where Hemingway lived with his second wife Pauline and their two sons from 1931 to 1940.

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">Hemingway installed the first in-ground pool in Key West. London Calling

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt;">In honor of the 2012 Olympics that begin in London next week and in belated tribute to Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee last month, I share some images of both the Union Jack and Britain’s monarch. The Sex Pistols art is just for fun; I included it to contrast two images featuring safety pins: the anarchy image and Ann Carrington’s rendering of the Queen called “Heads She Wins”.

<span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt;">I have great respect for Queen Elizabeth, especially after reading Sally Bedell Smith’s Elizabeth the Queen: The Life of a Modern Monarch.
