Steve Vizard's Melb Pad
General Features
PRICE RANGE: Approx $8 Million

  • Property Type: House
  • Bedrooms: 7
  • Bathrooms: 10

Outdoor Features
  • Garage Spaces: 2
I used to love Steve Vizard's comedy,
does anyone else remember Fast Forward?
I quite liked the gay guy Darryl!

Anyways, only recently in 2007 Steve sold
his $17.5 Million house in Toorak,
and now this $8 Million Mansion
in St Kilda is for sale. See what you think!

Very contemporary and masculine imo...

From the street, it's all heritage, and ain't it fine!

Completely revamped inside, now ultra trendy.
(can you see the original ceiling moulding,
large skirting boards etc, and I wonder if it's
worth bothering retaining these features
when everything is soooo modern???)

Don't we all need dining rooms this size!!!
And what's with the lamp to the left, falling over?
is that a comedy thing I wonder...!

Yes, well, my DH would love this library!

What's with the boring bedroom,
minimalist 101!

I noticed the house has seven bedrooms,
shame they only showed us this one.

Great place to live, St Kilda,
I should know, I did a few years ago,
I had an apartment right opposite the beach!

AND here's the Master Plan!
AND here's what the Agent said about it!

"Clendore" - Iconic Luxury Landmark

Proudly residing in the heart of St Kilda's much celebrated entertainment precinct is this iconic Italianate masterpiece steeped in history and versatility. Located just metres from the beach and Melbourne's best restaurants, the impressive light-filled mansion bestows three levels and 17 principal rooms of superb proportions and impeccable presentation. Originally built in the 1880s and recently updated, the grand colonnaded building currently serves as a luxurious inner-city family sanctuary. Restored and renovated to exacting standards, the ground floor houses a large study/library with floor-to-ceiling oak bookshelves, private den and two formal rooms - all featuring original cornices, soaring ornate ceilings, limed oak floorboards and marble fireplaces. A sundrenched central atrium and gallery paves the way for a contemporary Northwest oriented entertaining domain comprising a Carrara marble kitchen with European appliances and walk-in pantry, family and meals zone as well as an outdoor deck area. The second and third floors deliver seven bedrooms with limestone en suite bathrooms (including a main bedroom with adjoining designer bathroom and oversized dressing room), a two-tier 12-person cinema and fitted eight-station office. A fourth-level Paul Bangay rooftop garden provides the ultimate setting for fine entertaining and stylish alfresco dining. Enjoying unique 360-degree views across Albert Park, the Bay and CBD, it accommodates a lavish infinity pool, built-in barbeque kitchen and pergola. Other first class features include a 15-person Schindler commercial double-door lift that connects all four floors, European triple-glazed glass, advanced CCTV security, top quality finishes and fittings, smart wiring, zoned air-conditioning, off-street parking and three street frontages. 299 New Street was the birthplace of world renowned
Australian musician and composer
George Percy Grainger on the 8th July, 1882.

Problem is I've never heard of him.
Oh well, I imagine Brighton was a tad different
when he was born there some 130yrs ago!

And wouldn't he lurve the home now!

Black n White, yes, but I like it sometimes...

I think the kitchen is small for the house,
but I love the black stools so much!!!

Hey for a 130yr old home, this study is fantastic!
Notice the skirting boards - HUGE!

I think this bathroom is divine!

AND here's the Master Plan!
AND Here's What the Agent Said about it!

This home is gorgeous!
Tanya, the owner, was kind enough to tell me about it,
had I found it myself, I would have def posted anyway,
in a heart beat.

See what you think!

Tanya said they have been nurturing the house &
garden into it's current state for nine years!
It looks 100 years old to me!!! (I mean in a good way!)
Picket Fence and all...

Very Town & Country Living isn't it!!!

I just love this breakfast room,
check out the detail on the curtains, gorgeous!
Pom Pom's!!

Classic white kitchen,
how can you go wrong!

Tanya said they have just bought a
"sad house in Noosa" which she is going to
tackle with a "British Colonial tropical plantation look" in mind!
I can't wait to see that one,
I wonder if that one will take another nine years!!
LOL

Notice how all you can see out of every window is
trees and greenery! My kind of view...

And here's my favourite two rooms, the kids rooms...
how gorgeous are they!
Love the curtains, the colours,
the comfortable feel to the spacious rooms,
my kids rooms in our house are way too small,
I so wish these rooms belonged to my kids.

How gorgeous is that canvas over the bed!!!

Tanya said that she met a lady at the Eumundi Market
(website www.canvasmyroom.com.au)
who customises artwork and posts them to you.
I had a quick look at her website, her work is gorgeous!

But I have to say, I'm going to copy her curtain design in
both the kids rooms at my home here, colours and all.
I think they are fabulous.

She also said the white blanket box was
a cheap find at a flea market
which she painted
and custom covered the lid - amazing!

The garden speaks for itself,
but I had to say my favorite thing was the cubby house,
which she built herself!!
And check out the veggie patch!
Scarecrow and all....

BEST WISHES Tanya, thanks for the heads-up on your ad,
I reckon you are going to have a quick sale too,
and I can't wait to see what you do with the Noosa House!

AND here's the Master Plan!
