Caned Chairs

Unlike me, however, she could sew doll clothes, make handbags and even cane chairs. She caned a chair that was in the family room of my childhood home, which may be why I always have liked this style. Caning (which is made from the rattan palm) is strong enough to serve as a chair seat, but its airiness adds a sense of delicacy to a room.
